Exhibit Highlights

This exhibit ran from October 2002 thru February 2004 at the Dewitt Wallace Museum in Williamsburg, Virginia. It featured over 400 items from the Colonial Williamsburg collection, as well as loans from Tasha Tudor and other collections.

I really enjoyed this exhibit - there is nothing quite like seeing the "real thing" in person. I saw the exhibit on five separate occasions, twice with costuming buddies in tow. Each time I went, I saw something new, details I hadn't noticed the previous time.

For those who weren't able to see the exhibit I highly recommend the book "What Clothes Reveal: The Language of Clothing in Colonial and Federal America" by Linda Baumgarten. This gorgeous book has pictures of all the clothing featured in the exhibit.

I didn't take pictures of everything - both my time and film were limited so I only photographed my personal favorites. Enjoy!
