This picture of the skirt back, part of the sweep. The lining has rotted away to reveal a second layer of lining. This interlining appears to be along the full width of the skirt and, I believe, ends at the stitching line seen here. It would be added protection for a skirt trailing along the ground and could be replaced if needed...
